You can apply online through Safeway's careers page or job portals like Indeed, or sometimes you can even apply in person by dropping off your resume at a store. First, there's a phone screening where they'll chat with you briefly about your interest, availability, and if you meet the basic requirements. Then, you'll have an in-person interview, likely with the store manager or department supervisor, where they'll ask about your past work, customer service skills, and availability. After the interview, you might get a job offer right away. They also do a background check, which usually takes a few days. Finally, there's onboarding with paperwork and training, which could include computer modules. The whole thing usually wraps up in a few days to a week, depending on how quickly they need someone and how fast you reply.
