First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Safeway.
Customer Service Representative
The interview was about 20 minutes long. They asked me questions about myself, why I was interested in working there and at that particular store, and about my future plans like how long I saw myself working there or if I was planning on going to university. There were also some technical questions.
- Which product do you like the most, and can you try to sell it to me?
- Which product do you like the most, and can you try to sell it?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process was quite thorough, not overly difficult but not too simple either, with a fast turnaround to start working. We talked about why I applied for this particular job and my background in cashier and customer service roles. I was asked about my basic availability, for instance, if I could work in other departments or positions, and how I felt about that. I was told that after being hired, I'd likely receive training in most of the other departments over time.
- Tell me about your previous experience in customer service or as a cashier.
- What motivated you to apply for this job?
- Can you describe your availability for this position?
Customer Service Representative
It was a really quick and easy process, all about getting to know you and your background. Everything felt super friendly and professional, and I never felt like I was being interrogated. It was a good balance of getting information without being overwhelming.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
- What do you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses?
- What is your educational background?
