Customer Service Representative
It was a very simple process, for a position that didn't require past experience, but more about if I would be compatible with the company. I think the interview process has changed since then.
- Could you tell me about your previous experience and your availability for working hours, considering this role is located near a college?
- Tell me about your experience and how many hours you're able to work, since it's near a college.
Security Specialist
I just finished up 2 days of orientation and still don't have a clear idea of my work schedule or how much I'll be getting paid. When I asked about the hours, the response was basically 'get the job done whenever'. They mentioned some days might go until 9pm and others could start as early as 3pm. Regarding pay, I inquired if it was hourly or commission-based, but the person said they didn't have that info 'in front of them' and that it would be covered on the next training day. It's been two days already! So, I'll find out my salary on day three? Why is all of this information so hidden? I can't get a straight answer about anything, which feels a bit suspicious. I've asked about the job title, what I'll actually be doing, the pay, and the hours, and each time the discussion is put off.
- What's your experience with security systems?
Marketing Assistant
I first had a phone call to go over the job basics and confirm my interest and qualifications. After that, they set up an in-person interview at the office. When I got there, the people I'd be working with greeted me right away. We talked about my skills for the job, what my responsibilities would be, and more about the company. It was a really professional, laid-back, and good experience.
- Tell me about a project that highlights your organizational abilities.
- Would you rather work by yourself or with others?
Sales Advisor
I found the job posting on Indeed and applied right away. The recruiter reached out via email to check my availability for the next afternoon. We spoke on the phone for about 10 minutes; she asked about my past work experience and my goals for my next job. She was very friendly and gave me a good overview of the role.
- What kind of work environment do you prefer?
- Can you be flexible with your working hours?
- What did you like and dislike about your previous job?
