Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Saab Group.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved an initial 30-minute phone interview where I was asked about 8 technical questions and some things from my resume. After that, there was an on-site interview that lasted 2.5 hours. I met with 5 different people: the hiring manager, 3 engineers, and HR. They asked a lot of technical and resume questions during this time. I didn't get the job in the end, but the interview process was really good. The people were nice and made it feel comfortable. The only downside was getting an automated email saying I was out of the running, which left me wondering what I could have done better. I do understand though that companies don't have to explain why someone isn't a good fit.
- Can you explain what a namespace is and provide scenarios where it would be useful?
Software Engineer
The hiring process starts with looking over resumes to find good people. Then, there are some initial tests, like skills tests or a quick call, to check if you have the basic stuff. If you pass that, you get to interviews, which could be online, on the phone, or in person. These interviews will focus on your technical skills, how you solve problems, and if you'd fit in. You might have a few different interview types, like talking about past experiences, doing technical problems, or talking to a group. After all the interviews, they talk about how you did and decide. In the end, you either get a job offer or not. They want to make sure it's fair and based on what you can do.
- Tell me about a challenge you encountered in your work and how you managed it.
Software Engineer
It was easy. I just had some brief behavioral questions, no technical ones. I talked about my CV and past experiences. They gave off a good vibe. It might depend on the team for how hard it is. Just prepare your CV and add some projects to it.
- Can you tell me about a project listed on your CV?
