Senior Software Engineer
The HR scheduling my interview was on leave and hadn't passed on the details. After a long wait, another HR attended to me, then I had to wait again for the technical person who was in a meeting. This meant the interview started an hour and a half late, even though it was scheduled days in advance. The interviewer was good, and the interview itself went well. I then waited again for HR, thinking it was for the next round, but after another long wait, I had to find HR myself. I was told I passed the first round, but the technical director was busy for the second round, and the original HR (who was on leave) would contact me for rescheduling. After two days with no contact, I emailed for an update and was told they forgot to inform me about the second round. This was unexpected from a senior HR.

Software Engineer
I got a call from this company, I think they found my resume through an online consulting firm. The interview was scheduled within a week. When I got there, the interview panel seemed surprised because they were looking for someone with Windows experience, despite my background being entirely in Linux. I decided to proceed since the interview was about C++, which is relevant to my profile. After two technical rounds, the technical interviewer was satisfied with my qualifications. Then came the HR round. I stated my desired salary increase of 40%-45%, which they were willing to meet. However, HR asked for a written commitment to join. I explained that I couldn't guarantee that, as circumstances can change and a better offer might arise. The HR person became judgmental and commented that I was only focused on financial growth, to which I responded by asking who isn't. The next day, I received a vague rejection email stating they were pursuing other candidates more closely aligned with the position's requirements.
- Could you answer in-depth questions about C++ and operating systems?
Software Engineer Trainee
So the first round was a group discussion, mostly to check communication skills. Then there was a written test. The first part had questions 1 to 11 on Java and SQL basics, and questions 12 to 20 were aptitude, reasoning, and verbal. It also included an email and an essay writing task. After two days, they called me for the next rounds. The third round was technical, asking about SQL queries, my project, a Fibonacci series program, and some C questions. I passed that and was called for Tr2. In Tr2, the interviewer had me write and trace a program, asked about my project, and some Java questions. They also explained about the company. The final round was HR, where they discussed company policies. They tend to ask a lot of questions from the resume.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you write code to find duplicate characters in an array?
- How would you write a query to get the 5th highest salary?
