Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ryder System.
Warehouse Worker
The interview process was great, they hired me on the spot and understood everything. They worked with me and asked what position I wanted. I was interviewed by one of the best, who understood me and worked everything out for me.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work for Ryder?
Forklift Operator
They really needed someone quick, so they jumped right into the basics. They wanted to know if I had forklift experience, warehouse experience, and what shift I was hoping for. Just the usual questions about my past jobs.
- Do you have prior experience operating a sit-down or stand-up forklift, or do you possess an unexpired license or certificate?
- What shift are you interested in?
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
Forklift Operator
I called the number on indeed, got asked some phone questions, then had an in-person interview with the manager. Got a verbal offer and was waiting for the senior recruiter. After a week of no contact, I called them and found out they sent my offer to someone with the same name. They finally sent mine, and I had to get a drug screen. The drug screen is taking almost a month, and the recruiter isn't giving me a clear answer. My background check cleared, but the drug screen is still pending. The recruiter's handling of this has been unprofessional, especially sending the wrong offer initially.
- What about you makes you a great candidate for this job?
- Can you tell me how you work when you're under pressure?
- Do you like working with others or by yourself more?
