First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RWJBarnabas Health.
Front Desk Receptionist
In person interview with some situational questions; they just want to know if you are willing to help people and have a customer service mindset. People are usually going through a tough time and/or are impatient and holding up all the hospital policies through that, they want to know you can do that.
- Describe a situation where you had to deal with a difficult person. How did you approach and manage it?
Director of Nurse Recruitment
I had an hour-long video chat with a recruiter. It was pretty friendly and I learned a lot. She hinted I would move forward, and said I'd hear back by Friday. It's been 3 weeks and I've been completely ghosted. I followed up by email twice, professionally, and got zero response. As a recruiter myself for 19 years, I would never treat candidates like this, especially when they follow up nicely. Just take a few seconds to let people know where they stand. It's ridiculous, unprofessional, and frankly, shameful.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Clinical Researcher
It started with a standard HR screening call with the hiring manager. After that, I moved on to an interview with the Principal Investigator (PI) and some of the support team. The interview itself was quite nice and felt like a good, open conversation. It lasted about 45-60 minutes, but then unfortunately I didn't hear back from anyone at HR or the PI who interviewed me.
- Can you share your experience working with pediatric patients, specifically those with special needs?
Quality Coordinator
I had a great time interviewing at RWJBarnabas Health. The panel was super nice and really seemed interested in me. They asked a lot about teamwork and fitting in with the company culture, using situation-based questions to see how I work with others. They even showed me around the place, which made it easier to picture myself working there. They were upfront about how long the process would take and what to expect next, which I appreciated. All in all, they were professional, friendly, and focused on both my skills and whether I'd be a good fit, which made me really want to join their team.
- Tell me about a time you worked with different specialists to solve a quality issue, and how you made sure everyone on the team communicated well.
