Sales Representative
I applied and about a week later had a phone interview, my first one ever so I was pretty nervous but it went okay. A week after that, I was called back for an in-person interview the very next day. The interviewer emphasized that part of the job involved setting up displays and traveling locally. I mentioned my past experience handling and setting up large displays (up to 100lbs) and traveling nationally, but he seemed to doubt my ability to handle the physical and travel demands, asking about it multiple times and if it intimidated me. I'm not sure if his concern was why I didn't get the job, but he was polite and the initial screener did call to inform me of the decision. There was supposed to be a third interview, but I didn't get that far.
- Tell me about your experience with major retail partners.
- What's your experience with setting up and breaking down displays that weigh up to 100 lbs?
- Have you driven throughout local territories for sales purposes before?
Sales Representative
I had a phone screen that was great, and then the district manager called me the next day. I waited a week for the interview, which felt really comfortable and went super well. At the end, he asked if I wanted to do a job shadow next week to make sure I'd be happy with the role. Of course, I said yes. Three weeks passed with no contact, so I followed up. I got an email saying they were still interviewing others. Two more weeks passed, and I got a letter saying they decided to keep looking. It was the most awkward thing ever.
- Why are you the top choice for this position?
- Do you think you might find this role uninteresting?
Sales Lead
After I submitted my application to the store, I interviewed with the store manager about a week later. About three weeks after that, I had a phone interview with corporate. A week after that, I had another phone interview with HR, and then a few days later, I had one more phone interview with corporate.
- Can you explain what you mean by 'you were just let go'?
