HR Business Partner
The interview process isn't very inclusive if you are neurodiverse. The personality assessments are filled with bias. You don't know if AI is evaluating you or a human, but either way, you wait for several weeks for the automated response.

Project Manager
I got contacted for a phone screen and set it up. The original interviewer was unavailable, but the replacement was super nice. Then, I was asked to officially apply and do a personality test, after which I heard nothing for a whole month. Eventually, the person who interviewed me apologized, saying there was confusion about who was managing my application. She then did the phone screen and said I'd hear back in a week. Two weeks later, I got the standard rejection email. It was a real waste of my time.
- What's your approach to collaborating with others?
District Manager
The first step was a recruiter screening. After that, I interviewed with the VP of Store Operations. It was a very casual chat. The focus was on my past experience, specifically using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). The interviewer was keen to discuss how I drive business, rather than just operations. They also shared a lot of good info about the company, describing it as conservative with Midwest values. They're looking to grow and improve their talent. The interview was about 40 minutes.
- What is your proudest accomplishment in your current role?
Manager
The interview was really informal and relaxed. It was mostly about basic merchandising and retail stuff, and how you manage staff. They made me an offer, and then I did a drug test and background check right there. The whole interview was pretty easy, it was a one-on-one skills review, drug test, and background check.
