Case Presentation

The interview process was pretty involved, starting with what felt like a super complicated, unpaid case study. Honestly, it was more like doing free consulting for them than a real interview. They even said the case study would be their first project if I got the job, which made it seem like they wanted candidates to do actual work for free. It was kinda hard to take them seriously because they didn't seem to know much about the field they were hiring for. I felt like they were more interested in getting ideas out of us than actually hiring someone. Just a heads up, be ready to put in a lot of work without getting paid, and think if that's okay with you.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The case study felt like "brain drain," and candidates should be aware of the significant time and effort involved and consider if contributing substantial work without compensation is acceptable.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

A recruiter reached out via email. First, there was a screening call, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager. Then, a peer interview and an interview with the CFO. After those three, I was sent a case study that required over 5 hours of work, which seemed questionable and is apparently common at this company. I completed the presentation, and they expected all their problems to be solved in it. The CFO specifically kept asking for more details, even though I'd only spent about 30 minutes with each team member before. It felt like they were looking for unpaid labor and good ideas rather than assessing how I solve problems and my thought process, which is how I typically interview candidates. They also keep your presentation and ask for it to be emailed in advance. I decided to keep my presentation high-level and focused on specifics, as I'd read prior reviews and felt hesitant to share too much information.

Behavioral Technical

The initial screening was great. Going into round two is where everything went crazy. The information I was advised to be prepare to be questioned on was no where near the questions I was actually asked. I was told to prepare for questions on how I approach other business leaders and or work with others cross functionally, how I prioritize my work when a team cannot be expanded, plus significant issues and how I solved them. The person running the interview did not introduce themselves and continued to yawn throughout the entire interview. This interview was not a late interview. Instead, I was asked how many lines are on a paper 1500/UB. For a company that is supposed to be helping people get needed mental health treatment, they tend to want to play their own set of mind games.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • What is the number of lines present on a claim form?

Coding System Design Behavioral Technical

The recruiter was super responsive and kept me updated. First up was a recruiter call, which was chill and conversational. Then, I had a hiring manager screen. Round three involved a coding interview (people mentioned the game of life problem) and a system design question. For the final round, it was another coding interview (not the same leetcode style as the first one), plus a technical deep dive where we spent 30 minutes going over my background and experience. I got to set up my own coding environment/IDE for both coding and system design, which I liked because I could use my preferred setup instead of something like CoderPad. The whole thing moved fast and smoothly. Everyone I talked to was really nice.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Tell me about your experience and how it applies to this role, and also implement the Game of Life.
  • Tell me about your past experience and how it relates to the job.
