First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rue Gilt Groupe.
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process took place over about 10 days and included four stages. First was an HR screen, then a Hiring Manager tech interview, followed by two interviews with Senior Devs. The Senior Dev interviews covered tech questions and system design. Each interview lasted about 60-90 minutes. The interviewers were nice and seemed to enjoy their jobs. I didn't get an offer from RGG. I asked for feedback, but the recruiter never responded, which was a bad look after I invested time in interviewing and preparing. I wouldn't recommend them based on that.

Software Engineer
The company HR reached out to me first, telling me about the company and the jobs they had open. Once I decided to apply, they sent me a coding challenge that I had a week to finish, though they were pretty chill about the deadline if I needed more time. After I submitted the coding challenge, I had two in-person technical interviews, each lasting about an hour and a half. A few days later, they let me know how I did and made an offer. The whole thing took less than two weeks.
- They asked me questions about my CV and my past experience.
- They also asked me about the projects I have been working on.
- There were also general questions about architecture and design.
Software Engineer
The first step was a recruiter call, which went pretty well. It involved a bit of a background check and questions about me and my current job, like why I'm looking to leave. They also told me about the company and what they look for in new hires. After that, I got a technical test with a week to complete it. When I submitted my solution, they said it didn't meet some requirements that weren't actually in the task description. Honestly, I think it would be better if the tasks were more related to Gilt's actual business.
