Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rue Gilt Groupe.
Analyst
I talked to a really nice HR person first who made me feel super comfortable. The vibe was great, and even though people dressed casually, they didn't look sloppy. Then I met with three or four people from the team. They asked pretty standard interview questions, looking for people who are really energetic and passionate. I got asked one question about my skills. Definitely make sure to ask them a bunch of questions!
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
- How do you approach building a budget?
Planning Analyst
The interview process started off easy with a quick phone screen. After that, I was invited to an in-person interview. It was a full day thing, lasted about 3 hours, and I met with a few different managers.
- What are some simple behavioral questions you can ask me?
- Can you emphasize your Excel skills?
- Do you have experience with Excel?
Senior Analyst
Had 2 phone interviews first, then a 5-hour office interview. Some interviewers were really not good at interviewing or seemed to not care (like they weren't listening, would interrupt, or seemed to have ADD). After the 3rd interviewer, I really didn't want the job anymore!
- They started with a question to test my SQL skills, specifically on using the CASE statement.
- The other questions were pretty standard.
