First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ruder Finn.
PR Intern
So, the first step was this quick phone chat with HR, like ten mins. Then, two days later, I had an online video interview with the team leader. The very next day, they told me I got the job and wanted me to start ASAP.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your understanding of PR work?
- What are your thoughts on our brand, its recent spokespersons, and current hot topics in the beauty industry?
- What have you observed about recent significant events within the beauty industry?
Executive Trainee
The process for the ET role was pretty seamless and took about 2.5 weeks. It started with an HR phone screening. Then there were two panel interviews with the teams I'm interested in. They were quick to let me know the feedback and I really appreciated how responsive the HR rep was.
- Can you describe your main strengths and areas for improvement?
- Could you share an instance where you encountered a challenge at work?
Executive Trainee
So, I had a phone call with a recruiter first which went pretty good. Then I had a Zoom call with two account supervisors, and that also went really well. After that, I was supposed to interview with the executive VP and operations senior VP. But then, the role suddenly moved locations and everything just kind of stopped. I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes.
- Which newsletters do you currently subscribe to, and can you name the most recent B2B media publication you've read?
- What was the last major B2B media you read?
Public Relations Specialist
The interview process was a basic three-stage interview. It started with an HR interview to gauge your interest and see how confident and clear you are about your past work. Then there was a written assessment where I had to write an article for a mobile brand CEO about future trends and also create an IMC plan for a smartphone launch. For me personally, there were two extra interviews, so it was a bit longer than usual.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What do you consider the best aspect of working in Public Relations?
- What are your future career aspirations?
