First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ruby Tuesday.
Restaurant Manager
I had been with Ruby Tuesday for five years, starting as a server and then moving up to Guest Service Coordinator. It was my second job overall, and I was looking for a new full-time role. I spoke to the district manager who visited frequently about salaried positions. The district manager for the area I was relocating to reached out, and I interviewed with him and the area director, whom I'd met previously. The interview went well, and they said they liked me, but salary was an issue. They offered additional vacation time instead. I thought I would get an offer right away.
- Can you share an example of a time when...?
Assistant Manager
The interview process started with an initial great interview that included a store tour and opportunities to speak with staff and ask questions. This was followed by an interview with HR a week later. I thought everything went well and was told I'd hear back, but a month has passed with no follow-up. I understand if I'm not the right fit, but a simple call to let me know would be appreciated. If you say you'll call, please follow through.
- What are some common interview questions you've been asked?
Assistant Manager
First, you submit an online application and complete some detailed tests. After that, there's a background check, credit check, and drug test. Then you'll interview with the district manager. If that goes well, you'll get an offer and we'll set up your orientation. The next step is signing agreements and the contract. Orientation lasts three to five hours, and during that time, you'll schedule your training.
