First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RubinBrown.
Intern
The interview process started with an on-campus interview that covered basic questions, behavioral aspects, your interests, and a walkthrough of your resume. They also asked about your motivation for being interested in RubinBrown. It wasn't too difficult. I was then invited for a second round at their office in Clayton. There, I spoke with a partner for about 30 minutes in a very relaxed setting. The conversation mostly focused on me and revisited parts of my resume. I received an offer less than a week after that.
- What makes you want to join RubinBrown?
- Do you intend to pursue your CPA?
Intern
I interviewed for an intern position. First, I had an on-campus interview with two accountants. It was very relaxed and conversational, nothing to worry about. A week later, I got an email for another on-campus interview scheduled two weeks after that. This one was a 1:1 interview with a partner and another employee, plus a quick chat with HR. These interviews were friendly but more professional and made me think about whether I really wanted to do accounting work. Two weeks after that, I got a phone call with an offer.
- In your own words, where do you see yourself in five years?
- What is it that you like about Saint Louis?
- What excites you about RB and why are you interested in this firm?
Intern
I applied through my university after the career fair. I was invited for an on-campus interview that lasted about 35 minutes. The last 10 minutes were reserved for my questions. There were no difficult or tricky questions. A lot of the time was spent discussing what working at RubinBrown is like. The remaining time was used to talk about my past work experience and elaborate on my responsibilities at each role.
- Tell me about your greatest strengths and weaknesses.
