Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RubinBrown.
Audit Associate
It was a 30-minute Zoom call with a manager and a partner. The questions were pretty straightforward, focusing on why I applied, my interest in audit, and how I interact with customers. They were quite approachable and easy to converse with.
- Describe a situation where you dealt with uncertainty.
Audit Associate
The interview process consists of two rounds, starting back-to-back with the managers. If you pass the manager round, you will then be interviewed by the partner. Overall, the interview has been conversational with a few behavioral questions.
- Describe a situation where you experienced conflict while working in a team.
Audit Intern
I only had one interview, which was an on-campus interview with a recruiter that came to my university. I applied through my school's career center and set up the interview via my online account. So, my first time talking to someone from RubinBrown was at the interview. The interviewer seemed disengaged, asking questions while looking away and checking his watch, which felt unprofessional. The questions were mostly behavioral and not too hard. He really focused on knowing the firm, asking about what I knew about it generally, any news I'd seen, why I chose RubinBrown, and how I'd be a good fit.
- Why would you choose to begin your career at RubinBrown over a Big 4 firm, given their strong reputation?
