First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RTM Business Group.
Account Executive
I had several one on one meetings with different team members, and then a final meeting with the VP and Founder. It was a pretty standard process, and it was great to meet people from different parts of the company to get a feel for the culture.
- What would you say is your greatest strength?
Account Executive
The interview process was really long and kinda all over the place. I talked to a recruiter, then the manager, then the VP of events, and even the founder. After the last interview, I never heard back, which was a bummer because it felt like a waste of time to go through so many interviews without even a basic email to explain why I didn't get the job. When I brought up diversity at the company, the interviewer's response basically signaled they don't consider that when hiring. The questions they asked felt super repetitive, like they were asking the same things in every interview.
- What's your ideal job?
- What's your plan if you miss a deadline?
- Can you tell me about a weakness?
Account Executive
After applying, I was contacted by a recruiter. He was a nice guy, but the job description wasn't appealing. This role is essentially a bait-and-switch sales position. It involves 'marketing research' and contacting executives to invite them to RTM Business Group events. The goal is to get executives to agree to a Zoom call before I give them the sales pitch. It's a virtual cold calling role. The advertised salary was $60,000, but that's contingent on sales, so the starting salary is actually $40,000. The recruiter mentioned training for speaking with executives and persuasion techniques. I found this part tedious. Many companies now disguise sales roles with fancy titles and vague job descriptions.
- Can you provide an overview of your resume?
- Describe a challenging situation you faced and how you handled it.
