Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RSP Architects.
Project Architect
The interview process felt welcoming, with interviewers who were respectful and engaged. They asked about the projects I presented and were open to answering my questions about the company. The interview started with introductions and then focused on two of my portfolio projects, followed by a series of questions about my goals and expectations.
- Where do you see your career in the next decade?
Architect
First, approach the interviewer in good faith. They will ask for all personal details and irrelevant questions for the role. Then, they'll ask for your portfolio and CVs curated for their roles. After a technical interview, you'll speak with HR. HR will always be busy. Finally, HR will offer you a low salary range, taking advantage of the company's reputation. When you report the manager, they will suddenly remember that you haven’t taken the tool test. They expect a candidate to complete a full project in 5 to 6 hours with all standards, norms, reports, and impressions, including elections and sections. I wonder if it’s a tool test or something else!
- Will you be unable to dedicate time to your family? Is this acceptable to you?
Architect
I was warmly greeted by senior associates for a friendly interview where we got to know each other's backgrounds and shared experiences. We discussed the work and exchanged views on the current project I would be leading.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and capabilities?
