First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RSP Architects.
Architect
First, approach the interviewer in good faith. They will ask for all personal details and irrelevant questions for the role. Then, they'll ask for your portfolio and CVs curated for their roles. After a technical interview, you'll speak with HR. HR will always be busy. Finally, HR will offer you a low salary range, taking advantage of the company's reputation. When you report the manager, they will suddenly remember that you haven’t taken the tool test. They expect a candidate to complete a full project in 5 to 6 hours with all standards, norms, reports, and impressions, including elections and sections. I wonder if it’s a tool test or something else!
- Will you be unable to dedicate time to your family? Is this acceptable to you?
3D Visualization Specialist
I got an interview thanks to an old colleague, so that part was easy. The interview itself was awful though, one of the worst in my 25 years as a designer. I met with a senior architect who was really rude and dismissive of my work, even though I'm a skilled 3D artist. Honestly, I should have just left. Turns out he has a bad reputation, which this interview confirmed. The only good thing is I now know I'd never want to work for him. This experience makes sense given the company's low Glassdoor rating.

Architect Assistant
It was pretty relaxed, more like a conversation where you explain your portfolio. They might ask about your interests since the interviewers are from the project or design teams and you'd be joining them. You can also ask them anything you want to know about the office.
- Can you walk me through your portfolio and past experiences?
- What are you interested in?
- What questions do you have for us about the office?
Technical Design Manager
It was a pretty smooth process overall, and the interviewers were technically very competent. However, negotiating the salary was challenging. The company seemed to look down on candidates with less than 3-4 years of experience, treating even those with 3 years as freshers. The negotiation is really up to the candidate's ability.
- Are you capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously on your own?
