First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RSM.
Management Consultant
I had one phone screen, then two behavioural interviews that were about a week and a half apart, both on zoom. Mostly easy behavioural questions about my resume, projects etc. It took a while between each stage, so don't lose heart if you don't hear back straight away.
- Since you have a more technical background, how would you justify that?
Management Consultant
First, there was a 1-minute Mandarin speech and a group discussion. Second, there was an English and a Chinese written test, followed by an interview with a Partner or Senior Manager that lasted 60-75 minutes.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What are your thoughts on tech trends?
- Can you describe the department's service line?
Management Consultant
The interview started with a good chat with HR, which was relaxed and welcoming. The second interview with the team leaders began well, but then took a turn for the worse. They asked about college courses I failed or withdrew from from 10-12 years ago, which I found irrelevant given my recent professional experience. They also questioned my presentation, which followed their instructions exactly, and even asked if I had read the case, which felt insulting and contrary to their stated values.
- Can you share an instance where you received criticism, detailing the criticism and its outcome?
- Tell me about any courses from your early college years that you failed or withdrew from.
- Could you address the accuracy of your presentation?
