The interview process was really great overall. I spoke with 4 people, ranging from managers to engineers, and most of the questions were behavioral. One person did ask more specific questions about my previous projects and used the 'tell me about a time' format.

Had a phone call first and then a 2-hour panel interview two weeks later. They were really friendly and personal. They asked technical and behavioral questions. I got an offer, but the travel requirement was increased to 50% and it wasn't clear how much would be local versus domestic. Travel expenses are reimbursed. I wasn't keen on the upfront travel costs, especially at 50% with a low offer. I was ghosted when I tried to negotiate. I was very careful, but it didn't help.

I applied on LinkedIn and heard back for an interview about 3 weeks later. They were able to accommodate my request for a remote interview via Microsoft Teams, which was great. The interview was about 1.5 hours and split into four 20-minute one-on-one chats with different engineers. It kicked off with typical questions like "tell me about yourself" and "why this company?". Then we dove into my resume and past work, and they shared details about the company and their projects. Each session ended with time for me to ask them questions. The engineers were really friendly and made it a low-stress experience, seeming genuinely interested in getting to know me. There were only a couple of technical questions related to my resume, which were straightforward. My main feedback is that I wish there had been an HR interview before the offer, as details about compensation, benefits, schedule, etc., weren't discussed until after the offer. The HR person I spoke to after getting the offer was responsive and helpful, even giving me more time to decide. Ultimately, I declined because of relocation cost concerns, despite their assistance.
