It was a pretty chill interview with three hiring managers, one from HR and two from the DeltaV/PLC side. They weren't trying to grill me with super tough technical stuff, more just seeing how I approach the job. It was just one round before they offered me the job.

The interview was on-site and involved multiple 1:1 long interviews that were mostly behavioral. I'd recommend preparing general answers for common behavioral questions before your interviews.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I submitted my resume and application online and heard back within a day or two. Then I had a phone interview that was a get-to-know-you and fit-for-the-company type of chat. The interviewer was pretty laid-back and seemed to be gauging my competency and general personality. They scheduled an on-site interview pretty much right after. The on-site started with lunch with all the other candidates (about 8-12 people interviewing for software, systems, and co-op roles) and some RoviSys folks. After lunch, there was a presentation about RoviSys and why it's a good place to work. We then toured the facility as a group. At the end of the tour, we each went to a separate office for our first of 6 interviews. These interviews were casual chats with people from different backgrounds like project managers, software developers, and project engineers. Each interviewer had a specific topic they wanted to discuss, like travel, growth, or company events. They didn't have a set list of questions, just their own ways to get to know you and see if you're a good fit. They really focused on leadership, adaptability, being comfortable at client sites, and self-motivation. My advice: 1) Research RoviSys and know how your skills fit their business. 2) Be yourself and relax, but stay professional (handshakes, eye contact, stand up when they enter/leave, ask how they're doing, etc.). 3) Be confident. 4) Be enthusiastic and smile! 5) Ask good questions about culture, travel, responsibilities, growth, etc. Asking questions makes it feel more like a conversation.

  • Describe how you would handle a situation involving conflict within a team or tension between clients and your team.
  • What makes you believe you would be a strong candidate for RoviSys?
