Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Round Table Pizza.
Cashier
I had one interview with the store manager. They asked if I had worked in restaurants or food service before, which they said is helpful. They mentioned the job doesn't need much, just knowing the cash register and remembering the menu. Apparently, your availability is the most important thing in the end.
- Have you been trained on a cash register before?
- Do you have prior experience in the restaurant or food service industry?
Cashier
So I went to ask for an application and the owner interviewed me right then and there. He didn't like that I was planning to leave in two years when he asked about my long term goals, so he wouldn't hire me. It felt unfair because I'm a high schooler and Round Table probably wouldn't be my long term goal anyway.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Cashier
It was a pretty chill interview, not too much pressure. They were really nice and accommodating if you let them know what was up. I talked to two people who work there, and it went pretty well, super professional. They explained what they were looking for from me, which was helpful.
- What days can you work, and what's the reason for those days?
