I found out about this job opening through a Facebook group called Who's Hiring Solano Group where someone posted about a job fair. I was looking for a second job since I already have one and was happy that I was off work on the day of the job fair, which was Wednesday, October 12th. I got there about 10 minutes before it started and filled out an application. There were 7 of us in total, including my friend who I told to come along. It was a group interview and felt pretty laid back. They asked us around 10 questions, and we didn't have to answer them, but my friend and I answered almost all of them because we really wanted the job! The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes. After that, they collected our applications and we were free to go. That was yesterday. Today, I got a call saying I got the job, about 3 hours ago. I'll be going in this upcoming Monday to complete the hiring paperwork.

The interview with the owner was relaxed and stress-free. We discussed qualifications, experience, and their hiring and training procedures for managers. RTP corporate has a training program with classes. Passing these classes allows for pay raises and job title changes. Shift supervisor training is a prerequisite for manager classes, and so on. Ongoing training is required to keep up with new procedures and maintain skills like dough making and HAACP.

So I went to ask for an application and the owner interviewed me right then and there. He didn't like that I was planning to leave in two years when he asked about my long term goals, so he wouldn't hire me. It felt unfair because I'm a high schooler and Round Table probably wouldn't be my long term goal anyway.
