The interviewer was not forthcoming with essential details about the day-to-day operations, which felt like a warning sign. She mentioned benefits that hadn't been implemented yet and discussed internal promotions extensively, yet they ultimately hired people they'd previously worked with at a hotel.

My interview experience at Rosewood Amsterdam was great! It was basically two chats, more like catching up than a tough interview. First, I spoke with someone from Talent & Culture about my background, why I wanted this role, and my interest in hospitality. They told me a lot about the job and the company vibe, which was really nice. The second chat was a follow-up to get more into the specifics of the internship. It felt super relaxed and the person was really helpful. The whole thing was easy, professional, and welcoming, which is what you hope for when applying for a Talent & Culture job. It gave me a really good feeling about Rosewood as a place to work.

The recruiter was professional and transparent throughout the process. They respected my time and managed the interviews efficiently, providing clear guidance on what to prepare for both the first and second interviews. The second interview was scheduled tightly with only 30 minutes, requiring quick thinking and preparation to showcase problem-solving skills. Although the job description suggested a strategic role, the focus during the interviews seemed to lean heavily on hands-on executional experience. Despite this, the process was conducted professionally.

The interview went great, I think I aced both interviews. They told me I'd have a third with the GM, but then a few days later, despite my amazing motivation and experience, they said they couldn't move forward with my application. Apparently, the F&B director is in charge of this. Then the HR director called to say I don't fit the team. This is why hospitality is always short-staffed everywhere. The pay isn't even that great!
