Typical interview. Very polite. Very professional. Interview went very well, but a week later they sent me an email saying they weren't going to hire me. Didn't give a reason and there was no contact whatsoever after the generic email.

I had an initial call with a recruiter and then spoke with two hiring managers. After that, they ghosted me, and I never heard back even after following up. It's strange because I know someone else who experienced the exact same thing. Both of us had our salary expectations at the high end of the range, given our experience exceeded the job posting's requirements. However, we heard about someone who was offered the position with less experience than the minimum stated. This makes me wonder if they're hesitant to pay top dollar or if that individual is just a much better interviewee. Regardless, it's an odd coincidence. A simple automated rejection email would be appreciated rather than leaving candidates in limbo after they've invested time in multiple interviews.

The interview was alright, though a little weird because the interviewer was breathing super loud the whole time (it was a phone call). Aside from that, they asked standard questions, nothing tricky. It was fine. I felt like they had a lot of people to get through because the whole thing felt really fast and like they had a script.
