So, the interview started with a quick call from HR, just to chat about the role, my background, and make sure I was still keen and available. After that, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager. This one was more technical and focused on my project management skills, especially for the Test Business and ERG stuff at Rolls-Royce. The questions were pretty detailed but felt natural, like they were building on what I was saying, which made it a good conversation. We talked about test rig operations, cost strategies like EVM, NPV, and IRR, and how I'd handle big projects. They also asked some behavioral and motivation questions towards the end. Overall, it felt pretty structured and professional, and I was treated well.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was for the submarine division. It started with a Teams interview, followed by two in-person interviews. The first was competency/scenario-based, and the second was a team meet-and-greet. I found the process to be extremely slow, disorganized, and disjointed, which was the worst experience I've had. I applied in December 2022, and interviews were only offered around April 2023, with the final ones stretching into late July. Recruiters and interviewers were poor at communication, leaving me waiting for weeks and scheduling interviews without confirming with the interviewers. This led to me taking time off work and losing two annual leave days. The initial Teams interview felt redundant as it mirrored the content of the face-to-face interview. The last interview was meant to be with the original interviewer to meet the team, as they were undecided between me and another candidate. Upon arrival, a team member approached me, questioning my surprise, and then conducted the interview with an obnoxious and arrogant attitude. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't get the role.

Applied through campus recruitment and had an initial on-campus interview. Afterwards, we were instructed to apply on the Rolls-Royce careers site to complete assessments. About two weeks later, I got an email inviting me to a final interview day at the assessment center. During the final interviews, I had to give a 10-minute presentation, which was a bit odd since it was just to one interviewer, turning it more into a discussion. Then, we had a group interview where we had 30 minutes to strategize the completion of a project. After lunch, there was a final 1-on-1 interview that included a writing task where we had to analyze steps in the project completion process for our group project. The interviewer for this last part seemed quite unprepared and unsure about the questions he was asking.
