& Process

The interview process involved three rounds, each including both fit and case interviews. All case studies were drawn from the interviewer's industry. The interviews were conversational in nature, featuring discussions and case analyses. The interviewers ranged from consultants to partners. There were many scheduling and rescheduling issues caused by HR, which was inconvenient.

I had 3 interview rounds with 3 different interviewers, ranging from Senior Consultants to a Manager. First, there was a personal fit interview, followed by 2 case interviews. The personal fit part started with standard questions and then moved to more creative ones I wasn't prepared for, but they were manageable. I found the cases quite difficult, as it was my first case interview. Overall, I had a very positive impression, even though I didn't receive an offer.

I was at the assessment day for an internship at Roland Berger in Munich. The arrival and the process were super organized and the recruiting team very nice. There were 3 rounds, each with a different consultant (from Senior Associate to Project Leader): personal fit, 2 cases with each a quantitative and qualitative part. The difficulty levels were very different and the evaluation criteria intransparent. In terms of content, however, the cases were as expected and classic case preparation is suitable. After the 3 interviews, there was an hour-long lunch break and afterwards, I received personal feedback. I did not receive an offer, but also no concrete feedback as to why not. On this day, applicants without a business background performed significantly better than those with one.
