The interviewer talked a lot about aircraft and tower communication, which wasn't really related to the job description. They went into a lot of technical detail that was a bit much. They said they were happy with my skills but then rejected me. I'm not sure what their deal is.

The interview for the Digital ASIC/FPGA Development Engineer position was conducted online via MS Teams. It involved a recruiter and two engineers/supervisors and lasted about 1.5 hours. We had some typical questions like asking about my motivation for applying. I then presented my master's thesis briefly and discussed it with the engineers. Technical questions were interspersed, and finally, salary expectations and desired location were discussed.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I had two interviews. The first one was with the director. He asked me the typical questions like why I wanted to join the company and about my salary expectations. Then, I had to complete a 20-minute questionnaire about C++. I finished it in about 10 minutes since I have a decent understanding of the language. It covered basic stuff about lambda functions, object slicing, and smart pointers. The second interview was with the team lead, an HR representative, and the project manager. They asked the same initial questions and also threw in a question about basic statistics.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The C++ questionnaire involved 10 code snippets where I had to identify the scope or complete a function call. These questions should be easy for someone with 1-2 years of experience. You can refer to the C++ FAQ on the isocpp website for similar questions.
