Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rogers Communications.
Manager
The overall experience was good, open, and people-focused. They asked scenario-based questions, where you share an example of what you would encounter and how you would handle it. They combined EQ questions with people leadership skills. There were multiple rounds, and I liked that they involved peers in the process to get their perspective and buy-in.
- Tell me about your leadership style and how you'd manage conflict between two team members.
Pricing Manager
It started with a headhunter intro, then an interview with the hiring manager. This first chat was good, I had notes and questions ready. It felt more like a conversation than a Q&A, and it actually ran longer than planned, giving us both time to connect. After that, I met with the VP for a similar, relaxed meeting. I felt positive about both and didn't think I'd change anything. The waiting period after the VP meeting was quite long, nearly four weeks before I heard back about not moving forward.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Tell me about the specifics of this role.
- What are the general business challenges we face?
Senior Manager
The interview process was really informal. They asked situational questions, and there wasn't really a right or wrong answer. I had a phone screening with the recruiter first. After that, I had an interview with the Senior Director, and then a second interview with a more senior Executive. It was a new role, and they were still figuring out the exact responsibilities.
- Can you explain how your previous experience aligns with the requirements for this position?
- Tell me about a situation where you disagreed with your manager. How did you manage that?
