After the demo reel and portfolio are approved, the interview is split into 3 parts, with the first 2 being the most crucial. The initial interviews are conducted by Team Leads and Department Leads/Directors. They ask direct questions about current industry workflows and general trivia to assess your knowledge. Both of these are elimination rounds. The last round is an HR interview with the Head of HR, a casual chat to get to know you.
- What are your goals and career aspirations at Rockstar Games in this role?
- How do you want to improve or go ahead in my career here at Rockstar Games?
3D Artist
I don't know what I should write here but I want to read about jobs in companies like this that want a 3D artist designer in a word and know about salary in this company or teams.
- What is your aspiration for being a 3D artist and creating high-detail elements?

It took 3 weeks in total. The first interview was a phone call. The lead was late, so the recruiter rescheduled. The recruiter was nice and informative, and I didn't feel pressured. I even asked for a critique, and they said there was nothing wrong, they liked my work, and I was qualified. A week later, I had a second interview with 2 directors. They were also late, so the recruiter had to reschedule again. This time it was over a fuzzy conference line, and I had a hard time hearing them. They seemed stressed. One director didn't talk much but tried to be funny, though he was actually insulting about why I hadn't been working for 2 years and made sarcastic remarks making fun of people being laid off. Whatever dude. The other director was flat out rude and tainted the air with negativity after I expressed positive praise about their most recent successful project, replying, "What? It's terrible! I see everything wrong with what we made. I don't see anything great about it." Wow. Ok. So that is how you regard your team? Excuse me while I go throw up. That would be the response I'd get if I were to work there, which doesn't show great leadership. Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe all the rumors are true then. A week later, the recruiter emailed me saying they already chose another candidate that is more qualified for the position. Normal denial response. The recruiter was nice at least.
- So tell us about yourself, why you chose Rockstar, what brought you here, and your potential impact?
- So...your past project was in....2012...so it's been...what ...2 years since you haven't found work? Why not?
- Why did your last project only last a year?
