Senior Recruiter
A recruiter reached out about the job, I applied and then didn't hear back. A few days later, the internal recruiter called me. The first interview was with the recruiter and a manager. The second interview involved a short presentation to three managers.
- What motivates you
Recruitment Consultant
The interview process had two main parts. The first was more relaxed, mainly for the manager to get to know you and your background by discussing your CV. The second part was more challenging and lasted about two hours. You had to prepare and give a presentation at the beginning. A role-play exercise was included, which might be tough if you haven't worked in recruitment before, but they seem to value potential over experience for people from sales backgrounds, and they give you time to prepare for the scenario. The interviewer also asked questions related to the presentation. A great part was how clear and detailed they were about the role, company, pay, and incentives. They clearly stated they need a dedicated and hardworking consultant who is committed to the job. You could ask questions throughout both stages.
- What is your motivation for getting into recruitment?
- Tell me about your personal aspirations.
- What are your financial objectives?

I applied online and heard back the next day from the recruiter. They wanted to chat about my background and told me a lot about the company, making sure to say it's a sales role but that hard work pays off with chances to move up. I met with them in person later that week. I asked some questions and they gave me pointers for meeting with a manager. Then the manager came in. They went over my resume, asked about my goals, and were upfront about the need to share financial info, which could be tough for some. They were clear about the job and how working hard leads to good commissions, even showing examples. After a quick office tour, I got a call later that day to come back the next week for a video presentation with a UK manager. I got an email with instructions for the presentation, and worked with the recruiter to get ready. The last interview was with two managers, one I'd met and the one from the UK. We discussed my presentation, and they asked questions. Then I did a role-play exercise with a mock client. I heard back the same day. They were very open about expectations and how they operate.
- Can you share your personal, business, and financial goals, both short-term and for the next 3 years?
- What makes you interested in recruitment?
- What strategies would you use to generate leads?
