Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Roblox.
Product Manager Intern
First, there was an online assessment with various tasks, followed by an essay submission based on the OA. Then, some basic situational questions were asked. If successful, the candidate proceeded to a "superday" which included three parts: one behavioral interview, one product strategy interview, and one product case study. The entire process took about 2 to 3 weeks.
- Can you tell me about a product you really like and explain your reasoning?
Product Manager
The interview process is super smooth. It includes these rounds: first a recruiter chat, then with the hiring manager, followed by a presentation given to about 4-5 people. After that, there's a one-on-one chat with 4 or 5 interviewers, and finally, an interview with an executive. Everyone was really nice and welcoming.
- The questions asked were very specific to the role; for example, they might present an internal issue and ask for your opinion to gauge your approach.
- There was also a behavioral component, asking how you would handle a specific situation (XYZ).
- They also inquired if you had encountered a similar situation in your past experiences.
Product Manager
The whole process took over two months. The recruiter was responsive but generally slow, taking 7-10 days to get back multiple times. I was rejected after four rounds. The feedback was that I apparently couldn't push back to engineering, which felt subjective and based on one panelist's opinion. I got good feedback from the hiring manager, but it didn't work out. It felt like a waste of my two months of prep for a rejection.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe a time you leveraged data to achieve a goal.
- Share an experience of a professional failure.
