First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Roblox.

I had online interviews for a job in San Mateo, California. There were 3 interviews total. One interviewer didn't show up, so we rescheduled for the next week. The new interviewer spoke Mandarin and very little English, and worked in China for LuoBu. We had to use Google Translate to communicate. I don't speak Mandarin.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.

First there was a recruiter screening, then I had an interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a 30-minute presentation with a panel, followed by 3 final round interviews. Everyone was nice and respectful. The recruiter tried to call me 4 times after the final round, but never connected. I emailed a few times about the outcome but never heard back.

The interview process at Roblox, which is known for being long, took over six months for me because I was initially rejected but then brought back. Despite the length, it felt fair, and communication was consistently good. The recruiting team really stood out; my recruiter kept me informed about each upcoming interview, answered my questions thoroughly, and was a great resource about Roblox. I even met their manager at an in-person event, and was very impressed by his professional and friendly demeanor, which gave me a good feel for the company culture. My loop included a 5-hour session with a portfolio presentation and several one-on-one meetings. I also had informal chats with the team at the in-person event, and another one-on-one was added to the schedule. About a month later, I was told I wouldn't get an offer, but then a month after that, I found out I was still being considered. This was followed by more one-on-ones with various leaders both inside and outside the design department.
- Can you describe your methods for developing practical solutions to real-world issues while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship?
