I applied to Robert Walters with no prior experience in recruitment. David Myers-Williams, the internal recruiter, managed my process and was fantastic. He guided me thoroughly at each stage and gave me the tools to succeed in each interview. He understood my character and experience, making me feel confident and prepared. I highly recommend David if you want to get into recruitment.

So I wanted to share my experience with Robert Walter Japan, who I found to be very unprofessional. They had three interviews planned. The first was an initial screening, pretty straightforward, mostly for us to get to know each other. The second round was tougher, with three different managers interviewing me from various departments. The most challenging part was a mock cold call where the prospect was really uncooperative. Everything seemed to be going well until the final round. I was given a date for my third interview, but then they rescheduled it. After that, they just called me and said there wouldn't be any more interviews because no teams needed new employees. This whole situation really frustrated and disappointed me because of their unprofessionalism. They set up a third interview and then just cut contact with a weak reason. In the end, I didn't get an offer and wouldn't suggest this company to anyone seeking a professional environment.

It was a thorough interview, checking for cultural and personal fit within the team and the discipline I am recruiting for now. I met several people from different disciplines to see where I would fit best. It felt like my choice in the end, which was refreshing compared to normal interviews. Jo was great the whole time.
