Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Robert Walters.
Manager
Met the Directors and MD. It was a mix of CBI and practical questions to assess working knowledge and best working principles to achieve both targets and staff development and growth. Got to meet the team members too and had a positive 2 way dialogue and gain a better understanding of what was needed from both parties.

Site Manager
Applied on Linkedin, then a headhunter from the company contacted me the next day for an interview ASAP. So 3 days after that contact, I went to their offices and had a nice chat, first in Spanish and then in English, because the interviewer wanted to check my level. My impression was that I did OK on the interview, and they told me they would contact me either they were going to move on with my application or not, which they didn't. I even sent a recruiter an email asking for news, but he never wrote back.
- Can you describe yourself?
Manager
It was a really thorough and personal interview process. The directors, who were strong commercial recruiters, understood the challenges of a tough economy and changing times. They were open about their concerns with the new role and the opportunities within the group. The process had three rounds: first with a director, then the MD, and finally the team. This allowed me to meet everyone. It was all wrapped up in two weeks, so there wasn't a lot of waiting around, and importantly, decisions were made fairly quickly. It made a great first impression and I've even replicated it when hiring my own teams.
- If you had the chance to lead a team, what changes would you implement?
