Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Robert Walters.
Consultant
I met with over 5 managers and 2 directors. They mostly asked the same questions and judged my suitability for their own teams. There seemed to be little coordination amongst them. Overall it was professional compared to some other firms I met with.
- Can you tell me about your experience in sales?
- What about your experience in international business?

Extremely unprofessional, inappropriate, invasive, and unstructured interview process. Got scheduled for 6 interviews with management and different team members without a clear timeline, format, or structure. A complete waste of time. Was asked very personal and irrelevant questions that invaded my privacy, which is an indication of a super toxic and unprofessional work environment. The hiring need was also constantly shifting, and they went back and forth on the team I would be joining and the hiring needs. Had to withdraw from the process to stop further loss.
- During your unemployment, where do you get your money from?
- Where do you invest your money?
- Do you ask your parents for money?
Consultant
I submitted my application online and got a response from someone within a week who expressed interest. A week later, we had a brief interview where they outlined the process. They mentioned that my CV would be shared with various departments, and three departments showed interest in my profile. I then had back-to-back 30-minute interviews with each of those three departments. Following this, only one of the departments decided to proceed with my application, leading to another interview with different people within that same department. Each of these interviews was spaced about a week apart.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What motivates your interest in a career in recruitment?
- Have you previously applied to other recruitment agencies?
