I was asked to come in the same day because the manager was going away. Before that, I was told I wasn't gotten back to right away because everyone was on vacation. Another review also mentions vacations thrown at him. Very strange and obviously unprofessional way of handling candidates. I was asked to come back for a personality test but when I arrived the person who was supposed to administer it was very frazzled and didn't know how. I told them I could come back but do not plan to. Really unimpressed with this company and to be honest, the showroom is very dated.

After submitting an online application, if you pass, you'll get a phone call to schedule an interview. Be aware, the management here is very arrogant, like a car dealership trying to act high-end. You'll go through 1 to 3 interviews. If they hire you, their sales system requires all new hires to transfer their sales to the top performers. At the same time, the management's system seems designed to create conflict and jealousy among the sales team, fostering a cutthroat competition that borders on harassment and a hostile work environment, all done with a smile! Newcomers, be warned – it's their way or the highway.

Behavioral Technical Case

I sent in my resume and a manager from corporate called me. We then scheduled an interview with the sales manager. He was really professional and talked a lot about the job. The application itself was pretty easy, just had to write an essay on why I wanted the job. After a quick test and filling out some forms, I had my interview with the sales manager. He was informative, and the interview went well even though it was long. He said I should meet with the general manager, but not that day. So I called a few days later to try and set that up. It was weird that I left a message and he didn't call back. That's when things started to get strange. When I finally got a hold of him, he apologized and set me up for a second interview with the GM. I was excited and thought I still had a shot. When I met the general manager, I should have seen the red flags. He immediately asked what I do for fun. I figured he was just trying to chat. But then he asked if I was married and if I had kids. We talked a bit about me and barely anything about the job. He mentioned he wanted someone 'aggressive,' and I told him about my experience and that I'd do well. I left feeling pretty disappointed, especially since he said he wouldn't decide until after his vacation in two weeks. I waited and called him when he got back. He asked for more time, until the end of the week. When I called him that Friday, I was put on hold forever until the receptionist said he had stepped out. I've never felt so drained after an interview process. Honestly, they could have just asked me to kiss their butt directly. They should learn to interview with respect for people's time. Call back, send an email, find a better way to let someone know they aren't getting the job. It just looks better.

I got the interview because I was shopping in the store and mentioned I was looking for a job. The store manager called me a few days later and asked me to come in for a formal interview. I went in the next week and spoke with the Customer Service Manager and the Store General Manager. They were nice and encouraging and talked about how the company was growing and there would be room for employees to grow too. The questions weren't hard and were pretty standard, but they really focused on customer service since customers are key. Then an HR rep called me a few days later to offer me the job.
