First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Riverside University Health System.
Registered Nurse
It was a panel interview with ICU nursing leadership and unit reps. They asked behavioral and situational/clinical questions. It was organized and I got to talk about my strong interest in critical care and my motivation to grow as a new grad nurse at RUHS.
- Can you share an instance where you showed leadership?
Peer Support Specialist
I heard back about 3 weeks after I applied. The next step was an on-site interview at their facility. It was a panel interview with a Senior Peer and a Supervisor. They asked 7 questions, and it took about 30-40 minutes depending on my answers.
- How would you handle a situation where you have a difficult supervisor?
Parent Partner
It was an in-person, panel interview with eight people from the leadership of two clinics that were hiring parent partners. A couple people were taking notes on my answers, but the majority of the panel was interacting with me and made the process more like a conversation than an awkward interrogation, as in other county interviews I’d had. I was asked questions in both English and Spanish, since I’d applied for a bilingual position.
- Can you share an instance where you had to champion your child's needs within an educational or mental health service setting?
- What difficulties did you encounter?
- What steps did you take to resolve it?
Continuous Improvement Manager
The first step was a quick 15-minute web conference on MS Teams with two people from the team. They asked some basic stuff and then let me ask them questions. It seemed like they weren't too into it and didn't seem to like their jobs. The job got posted again not long after, and then again a few months later, which makes me think they have a hard time finding and keeping good people.
