Intern
I applied on their website after seeing an ad on Craigslist. They got back to me pretty fast and we set up an interview for the next week. The office vibe is really open and chill, and everyone was super nice. I met with my potential direct manager and also two people I would be working with. No questions were too weird, but we did notice that I held the elevator door for all three of them when they were coming back from coffee right before the interview. Being polite definitely helped.
- Tell me about specific actions you took that impacted your surroundings.
- Can you give examples of times your actions influenced the activities of others?
Intern
The interview started with a phone call where we discussed basic programming concepts like writing a factorial function and changing a website's icon. After that, there was an onsite interview. It involved four people, and each took about 45 minutes. They asked about networking theory and onboard programming. I felt like I answered the questions okay, not great, and they mentioned that as a reason for not moving forward.
- Implement the itoa function.
- Given a list of jobs with dependencies, determine the order in which they can be completed (topological sort).
Intern
So there were 5 rounds in total before they gave me the offer. The first two were pretty easy, mostly asking basic coding questions and about my past work. The third round was kinda average, and the last two were a bit harder than average. You gotta know your stuff on Algorithms, Data Structures, OS, and all that. The pay was good though, and it's a pretty decent company.
- Can you explain how to determine if a number is a power of 2?
- What is the process for rounding a number to the nearest power of 2?
- Were there any specific design-related questions?
