First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at River Island.
Customer Assistant
Got an online interview, with some typed questions first, then some video questions. The typed part was with an AI chatbot. They sent this interview about half a day after I applied on Indeed.

Customer Assistant
After applying through the River Island portal and uploading my CV, there was a quick online part with some questions about past experience. I then got an email inviting me to a group interview. During the group interview, we were given tasks like discussing good/bad customer service, doing icebreakers, and choosing an outfit for an event and explaining why. We also answered basic competency questions, such as how to handle a shoplifter. I received a call the same day offering me the job.
- What action would you take if you encountered a shoplifter?
- How would you manage your shift if you woke up with a headache?
Customer Assistant
It was a group interview with 11 people. We had to introduce ourselves and talk about a time we received great customer service. Then, we did a role-play activity in pairs where we had to help customers choose clothing.
- Tell me about the best customer service experience you've had.
