Behavioral Technical Case

The interview process had several rounds. The recruiter didn't give me an overview of the number of rounds or the salary range. All my interviewers were male. The recruiter screen was easy, they asked what games I play and why I like them. Then there were two rounds of brainteasers, which were pretty easy. The first involved very elementary stats, and the second was more of a case study structure. I would need to know very general strategy, stats, KPIs, and A/B testing. The last round was a behavioral interview with the hiring manager. Questions focused on big accomplishments or getting over hurdles.

The interview process had four stages: two initial Skype calls, followed by an on-site visit, and concluding with a final Skype call with a leader. The interviews covered technical aspects, candidate fit, and general competencies. I was asked to discuss my relevant background, what I could contribute to Riot during my internship, and what I expected to gain from the experience. The overall communication during the hiring process was efficient and professional. Most people I spoke with were friendly, though some interviewers during more intense interviews could be a bit stern, which is understandable. The entire process spanned two months. The Skype interviews lasted about 45 minutes each, while the on-site day was a full-day commitment. A key takeaway for success is understanding that cultural alignment is crucial for Riot. They emphasize teamwork, effective communication, and a genuine passion for League of Legends that fuels a desire to improve the game. This enthusiasm needs to be evident in your application and interviews.

I went through a couple of phone calls, the first one was super general, like just checking if I fit personality-wise and what I'm into. The second call was more about checking my actual skills. Then, I had a whole day of interviews in person, which was actually like six interviews back-to-back, some one-on-one, some group ones. After all that, I had one last chat with someone higher up, and then they told me their decision.
