Summer Analyst
We're happy you applied for the University Recruitment Summer Analyst Internship! If you look like a good fit, we'll reach out about what's next. We might also check your application for other roles. For consulting roles at Rios Partners, it usually takes 6-8 weeks. You'll start by submitting your application. Then, there's a video screening using Microsoft Teams. Finally, you'll have an in-person case interview at our office in Arlington, VA.
- Tell me about a time you improved something or made a positive impact without having done it before.
Proposal Writer
The interview process has three parts: first, a basic interview over Teams. Then, a technical assessment in your field. Finally, a more in-depth interview. Everyone was really friendly and helpful.
- Can you describe your specific experience with federal proposals?
Writer
Expect over 4 interview rounds and a take home assignment, then get ghosted by the hiring team when you reach out to the careers email for an update. The first team members were nice, but it was odd not to speak with anyone from HR. A young analyst interviewed proposal writers and supervised during the technical skills assessment. Beware of the phrase “we wear many hats here.” The mid-level managers were great and I was eager to meet the team. I reached the final round, but the senior manager hadn't even looked at my resume or notes from prior interviews. No thanks for closure. Save your time and apply elsewhere! I wish someone from HR had the decency to inform me I wasn't their top choice after several interview stages. People invest time interviewing with your company, and that conduct is unprofessional. This is ironic given the company's claimed human-centered approach.
- What is your experience writing federal proposals?
Consultant
So I interviewed with Rios Partners and wanted to share how great it was. They were super professional from the start all the way through the case interview. For the case, I had 24 hours to prep and present, then another 24 to get my delivery down. It was a cool way to show what I can do without feeling super stressed, honestly made it fun. The team was really nice and professional during the interview, made me feel comfortable and showed how they care about making a good candidate experience. I even got an offer, which I took, so I guess their process works!
