First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rio Tinto.
Business Analyst
I had a great interaction with great people, they made me feel welcomed. We also spoke about the job descriptions and the projects available. They asked about my past experiences and why I want to make the actual move to RT. What made me want to work for this firm?
- Can you outline some of your technical skills?
Business Analyst
First, I had an initial interview with two managers. It was a standard fit interview where they asked questions like why I wanted to work with Rio Tinto and reviewed my CV. Then, I had an inbox case study. I was given 3 hours to review an investment opportunity. The whole process involved a quick intro, then 3 hours of solo work, and finally a review with some senior analysts.

- Could you please elaborate on your resume details?
- What is your assessment of this potential investment?
Business Analyst
Got referred by a contact. Started with an HR screening, followed by a one-on-one interview. This included a general interview for about an hour in the morning, and then a 3-4 hour case study. The case study was highly technical and required a presentation at the end.
