First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ringside Talent.
Recruiter
The interview was going well until the interviewer told me that recruiters work 60 hour work weeks. I asked how they balance work/life and he said "this position really involves taking on the position as a lifestyle choice." I then told him that I was no longer interested in the position as I had other obligations outside of work. The interviewer proceeded to imply that I must not be willing to "put in the work" and that they were only looking for employees willing to "go the extra mile" because of this company being the "third best recruiting firm in the country." The company and I having different priorities/expectations for work is one thing, but I found it to be incredibly unprofessional and rude for this interviewer to start making assumptions about my work ethic and my capabilities as an employee because I could not commit to a 60 hour work week. Please have your interviewers brush up on their Q&A skills. Insulting your applicants is a really fast way to lose business and employees.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your work experience?
Customer Support Specialist
I interviewed with Ringside twice for the Customer Support Specialist job. The first time was an in-person meeting with HR for about 30 minutes. They asked me initial questions about my background. It was a really comfortable chat. After that, she showed me around the office and I met some of the recruiters there. Everyone was super nice and came over to introduce themselves. About a week later, I went back for the second interview. This one was with the CEO, Chris. He mostly talked about the job, explaining each part of the role and then asking if I'd be okay with things like talking on the phone or sending emails. I really liked talking to Chris; he was so passionate about his company and was looking for people who wanted to be part of his hardworking team. He offered me the job at the end.
- What makes you want to join Ringside?
Client Support Specialist
The interview process was great! A few days after applying to Ringside Talent, I got an email to set up a phone interview. Then, a week later, I had an in-person interview. When I got there, the receptionist Amanda greeted me. She was super welcoming and helped me relax. I interviewed with the company's President, Chris Fackler. The interview lasted about an hour. We talked through my resume, he told me about the company and the awesome team at Ringside Talent! A few days later, I got a call with an offer!
- What makes me a good candidate for Ringside?
- What will my references say about me?
- Can you describe my responsibilities in my previous role?
Office Manager / Executive Assistant
I found the entire interview process to be an enjoyable process (yes, enjoyable!). First impressions are everything and I was definitely impressed. Kate greeted me when I arrived, offered me water, and was very kind and hospitable. All the employees who walked through the lobby made a point to stop by and introduce themselves. I've interviewed at other places where current employees avoid eye-contact at all costs, so this was definitely a welcome change. The interview process was thorough. I went through several rounds of interviews which only increased my interest in securing the position. You could really tell that Ringside puts a lot of time and consideration into who they bring on. They really want to make sure every employee is committed to the job and culturally a great fit.
- In your opinion, what makes company culture significant?
