Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RingCentral.
Marketing
First, there was a quick HR chat on the phone. Then, a more in-depth HR interview. After that, I had an interview with someone from the marketing team, and finally, an interview with the marketing director.
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- Can you go into more detail about your past experiences?
- What are your experiences in marketing?

The amount of interviews I had to go through for this place was unreasonable. It might have been fine if the interviewers were prepared. But every single person fumbled for questions and then would ask things like, "who else did you meet with?" "What did they ask?" "What did you say?" At that point, if you're all going to ask that, let's just get on a group call so that we're not repeating each other. The process to interview was so inefficient and a complete time waster. I can only imagine how the company functions daily. Unnecessary meeting after unnecessary meeting to report on the exact thing I just shared with twelve other people, in twelve separate meetings. Additionally, the arrogance of some of the interviewers. What a power trip some of these people were on. Really? You work at RingCentral. Get a reality check and calm down. The pay was 40K increase from my current salary. But after they suggested another round of interviews, I asked them to withdraw my candidacy. Not worth the money. Sounds like a toxic, and frustratingly inefficient work environment.
- I haven't had a chance to look at your resume. So tell me about yourself.
- Who else did you interview with?
- What did they ask?

It was a pretty straightforward process. First, I had a chat with a recruiter, then with the hiring manager. After that, it was a panel interview where I had to present a go-to-market strategy. They initially said there would be 2 people on the panel, but it ended up being 6, which was fine. I did the presentation and they asked questions during it. Everything seemed normal. I never heard back from the recruiter though. I followed up and they said they'd be in touch soon, but it's been a month and still no word...
- Present your go-to-market strategy.
- Questions during the presentation
