Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RingCentral.
Account Manager
It was a simple process over the phone. The person I spoke with seemed friendly. I enjoyed the experience overall, it was very relaxed. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in my previous experiences. I didn't get the job in the end, but that's okay.
- Why do you think you'd be a good fit for this role?
Sales Account Manager
I went through the interview process for the new Denver location. I had a few phone interviews and then an on-site interview. Unfortunately, I was not selected, but they encouraged me to apply again. It's strange because someone I previously worked with got hired for the same role around the same time. I'm in sales, so our performance metrics are public knowledge. I consistently outperformed this person on all sales metrics, month after month. Yet, they got the offer and I didn't. He was younger and male, which I'm not.
- What are your expectations for this role?
- Can you discuss your sales figures?
- How do you compare to other sales professionals?
Technical Account Manager
I had a video interview with a manager and some teams from other regions. It was a session with two candidates and lasted about an hour. I felt good about it because I could answer everything asked. I thought I'd hear back about whether it was a yes or no, since candidates should be told in a timely manner. But, HR never got back to me, even after I followed up a bunch. It was a bummer because it felt like they didn't care about our time. No matter how big or well-known a company is, this kind of unprofessional behavior is annoying, and I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.
- Could you start by introducing yourself and detailing your professional experience? Additionally, describe your approach to managing client accounts and the typical procedures you employ.
- How do you deal with escalations, and given that accounts are spread across various regions, what's your strategy for managing them when you're off-duty?
