Account Executive
This is my first time writing a negative review about an interview process. It began when the recruiter set me up for a mid-market AE role. During our initial 30-minute call, it became apparent that the recruiter actually intended to steer me towards an SMB role. I was very clear throughout about my limited availability in my current mid-market position, and my LinkedIn profile shows my career history, so there should have been no surprises about my suitability for the role I was told I was interviewing for. After I declined the SMB position, the recruiter informed me that the mid-market managers were open to interviewing me, which I was pleased to hear. My second interview was with one of the mid-market managers and it went well. I was told I would proceed to a third interview with the other mid-market manager. The recruiter and I were texting, which I appreciated. She mentioned Friday would work for the manager but didn't provide a specific time. I assumed she'd follow up with me, but she didn't. The next day, the manager called me while I was out to lunch. I politely asked to reschedule, and he agreed. I generally avoid blaming others for issues, so I didn't criticize the recruiter, but it's unclear how much this might have impacted his perception of me. The third interview also went well; the manager was very friendly and approachable. I asked for feedback at the end, and he said I performed well and that he would recommend moving me forward. He also gave me a timeline of about a week. It's now been almost a month, and I haven't heard back. I followed up twice via email, including another email requesting an update after waiting three weeks. Still no response. Poor business practice.
- Can you describe your current pipeline process and what it entails?
Account Executive
I interviewed for a new role in the Charlotte office for an SMB account executive position. The interview went very well. If I could give my interviewer and recruiter one piece of advice, it would be not to ghost candidates after the interview. That is totally disrespectful, especially in today's job market with the current conditions. I had my interview a month ago and followed up multiple times via phone calls and emails with the recruiter and interviewer. If you need to send out automated emails, that's better than just interviewing someone and never giving them an update. Not cool and very disrespectful. I hope that someone reads this and makes a change in that process.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your reasons for leaving your current role?
Enterprise Account Executive
So there was a recruiter screening first. Then I had a video call with the hiring manager. After that, a video call with the RVP. Then, a video call with a peer of the hiring manager. Next, a video call with a technical team member. Then, a video call with a professional service team member. The next step was a video presentation where I had to 'Stand and Deliver'. Finally, a decision was made.
