Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RINA.
Consultant Engineer
I was expecting a superficial interview, just for formality, without real knowledge checks, based on comments from other consulting companies. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by the seriousness of this technical interview. I received technical questions, like those from my exams, from a professional. I particularly appreciated the clarity from both HR and the professional, which definitely changed my mind about the idea I had from reading about other consulting companies, where I thought I would be left on my own once hired. It's still an interview, but I consider the overall experience positive.
- A couple of technical questions in my field, on topics covered by the courses I attended.
Engineer
The hiring process felt too long. It started with a multiple-choice test, followed by two online interviews and an in-person technical interview. Finally, I met with the hiring manager who gave me positive feedback and said they would contact me soon, but I never heard back.
- Can you describe your previous experience?
Project Engineer
I did an online aptitude test with repetitive questions, then had an hour-long interview with the engineers in the relevant department, but they didn't ask any technical questions related to the position. I declined the offer because they didn't outline any growth prospects within the company.
- How do you handle difficult situations?
