Software Engineer
The interview started with a 30-minute Zoom call with an interviewer who gave a sales pitch for the company and asked about my background, focusing on technical aspects of a past project. They were evasive about work-life balance. Oddly, the job ad mentioned languages the company doesn't use. After the call, they emailed their manifesto and required agreement before proceeding. The second round was a 60-minute technical interview on CoderPad. The first half involved system design for a cloud data processing pipeline. The second half had a short coding task in a language of my choice. The interviewer seemed uninterested and rude, and despite the guide saying specific cloud service knowledge wasn't needed, I was quizzed on them.
- Describe how you would architect a cloud pipeline for data processing and insight generation from conversation transcripts leveraging an LLM API.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved looking up the company on Reddit for a general idea of their reputation. I had an interview with the CEO, who was notably late and unprepared, showing up without my information and being rude. Despite understanding startup pressures, there was no apology or explanation for this lack of readiness. The interview focused on personal questions like my wake-up time and typical working hours, with persistent probing for details, suggesting a desire for candidates with no life outside of work.
- Could you describe your typical working hours?
- What time do you usually wake up?
- Can you walk me through your morning routine?
Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter call where they talked about their culture. If you were good with that, you moved on. Then there was an online technical interview with a senior engineer. This involved a basic script processing task and then a system design problem. Finally, there was an onsite interview which included debugging, feature implementation, and another system design problem.
- System design, and basic coding tasks
